State Service Company fabricates offshore platform structures at a 70-acre waterfront yard in Ingleside, Texas, and has delivered into the Gulf of Mexico since 1976. Topsides, decks, jackets and flare booms are built at the bulkhead and load out directly onto a barge, with a 12-mile run to open water.

Platform topsides and decks

Main levels and equipment decks fabricated as complete structures, with piping, electrical and equipment integrated before load-out. Multi-level topsides are assembled and mated in the yard, so the deck arrives as one tested structure.

Jackets and substructures

Fixed substructures for shallow and deep water, fabricated to project-specific design.

Flare booms

Boom structures that mount to the topside and carry produced gas away from the platform for flaring.

Well site and production facilities

Production and utility equipment packages, emergency shutdown and safety systems, interconnect piping and pneumatic systems.

Fabricated at the Water

Offshore structures are the clearest case for a waterfront yard. A topside does not travel by road at any size worth building, so the load-out point is the whole constraint.

State Service builds at 2,000 linear feet of load-bearing bulkhead and loads out directly to barge. The route to the Gulf of Mexico runs 12 miles by way of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Corpus Christi Ship Channel to Port Aransas, with no vertical restrictions.
