From Structural Steel to Modularization
State Service began as a heavy structural steel fabrication facility serving oil and gas. As the markets changed, the work changed with them, and the company moved into fabricating all types of structures. Today the majority of the work is modular.
We started out as primarily a heavy structural steel fabrication facility specializing in oil and gas. As the markets have changed over time we have morphed into doing all different types of structures. Right now we are working on a lot of modular work. Our goal, long term, is to become the premier modularization facility.

Privately Owned, and It Shows Up in the Work
State Service is privately owned and has no outside board. Projects throw curveballs, and a flat organization answers them in hours rather than escalating them through a governance chain, which is a practical advantage on any schedule-driven fabrication scope.
We have a very flat organization so we are able to make decisions quickly. We do not have a board to answer to. We are a privately owned company that has been operating for 50 years.

What We Build
Modular fabrication is the lead capability: process skids, pipe rack modules, electrical buildings and utility modules. Alongside it, State Service delivers full EPC scope from engineering through installation, runs field integrity services across South Texas, and fabricates offshore platform structures for the Gulf of Mexico.
Safety comes before production
The company runs a nobody gets hurt culture with a zero recordable target. Safety, then quality, then production. See our safety program.
Community and the next generation
State Service hosts engineering students from Texas A&M University Kingsville, including AIChE, ASME and the Javelina Energy Club, for facility tours and time with the project and operations teams. See careers.
