Where a Career Here Goes
Roy Myers joined State Service in 2012 as a design engineer. He moved through project management and now runs day to day operations for the entire yard.
That path is not unusual here. A flat, privately owned organization has short distances between the work and the decisions, which means people who take responsibility get seen.

Craft and trades
Structural welders, pipe welders, fitters, riggers, millwrights, electricians, instrumentation technicians, painters and blasters, crane operators, QC inspectors.
Engineering
Structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation design, 3D modeling, drafting.
Project and operations
Project managers, project engineers, planners and schedulers, procurement and expediting, materials and warehouse, safety professionals.
Certifications and credentials
TWIC credentialing is required for site access. State Service supports NCCER and OQ certification for personnel.
Students and Early Career
State Service hosts engineering students from Texas A&M University Kingsville, including AIChE, ASME and the Javelina Energy Club, for facility tours and time with the operations and project teams. The program is ongoing and open to additional student organizations.

Do I need experience in modular fabrication to apply?
No. State Service hires for attitude and teaches the trade. Existing craft certifications help, but the willingness to learn matters more.
